- Simon Littler, an Englishman, leads the team. 20 years of global wine experience
has equipped Simon with an astonishing range of information and contacts in the
industry. Not a day passes without phone calls, emails and deliveries from
producers, and experts from around the world who aid us in our quest to find the
best wines for our members. Simon concentrates on the US and South American
wine regions. In a previous life, Simon was a former chef in England (ha ha) while frequently charging
around rugby pitches in pursuit of the muddiest patch on the field.
- Stéphan Rata, our French-Moroccan Sourcing Director, leverages 10 years
of wine industry experience and 7 foreign languages to find gems across Europe, Latin America and South
Africa. Short is the list of countries where Stephan has not put a foot on, visiting wine
regions, tasting exotic cuisines, running triathlons and collecting hangover memories... not necessarily in the same order.
- Donald Munro, our Brazilian-Scott run sales for all the non-profit and charities channels.
Before joing The Global Wine Company, Donald spent 17 years with investments banks in New York, London and San Francisco.
Most recently, he was a Managing Director at Montgomery Securities and Bank of America Securities where he acquired a sharp taste for fine wines
on other people's account.
- David Reynolds is our man ‘down under’. Based in Perth near the
fabulous Margaret River wine region, he has the fortunate responsibility for
Australia and New Zealand.
- Vasant Nanavati is our CFO from India.
A certified public accountant, Vasant has served as a consultant and advisor to a number of successful
startup companies. He specializes in helping promising development-stage companies prepare strategic
business plans and attract investment capital to fuel their growth. Two of the companies that he was involved
with recently were acquired by large public corporations.
Vasants business background includes senior finance and corporate development positions, 12 years in public accounting,
with Grant Thornton and Coopers & Lybrand among others. He has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions and SEC matters.
Vasant has a BS degree from the California Institute of Technology and an MBA from the City
University of New York. He is also a fine wine afficionado and always looking around the office
for that special bottle to crack open.
- Rob Dolezal, a typical American (yeah right! his mom is from Norway),
who grew up playing football (the real one, not soccer) and snow-skiing in the Rocky Mountains,
first found his passion for wine and food when he studied in Siena, Italy.
But it was a Christmas present given by his wife 13 years ago, a wine tasting class,
that caused Rob to become crazy about wines from all over the world.
It inspired him so much he sought out the French winemaker he had studied in class
who ignited Rob’s interest in winemaking – and wine drinking! “I’ll never forget his wine,
his sincerity, and his grape-stained fingers,” says Rob.
A successful sales manager and entrepreneur, Rob is thrilled to be selling a product
he believes is the best in its category and one he can really sink his (red) nose into.
- John Salvi, Master of Wine and one of the most experienced wine experts in the world,
supports the team. John has been immersed in the wine business for 45 years and is an
internationally known judge and journalist. He is a polyglote, masters 9 languages,
lives in Bordeaux and is an invaluable resource to the Perfect Grape.
- Mike Meyers is the Perfect Grape's token American. He works with the Perfect
Grape's nonprofit partners, but his primary purpose is to boost his European
coworkers' sense of superiority, and to satisfy INS regulations.
- Chloe Goodrich completes our international team. Chloe basically makes everything work.
From financial to customer services you will hear her soft Irish tones ringing across the office or not so soft
if Stephan has walked off with the restroom key again. Chloe’s organizational capabilities are legendary which she honed running
the administration for a large Construction company in Arizona.
- Last but not least is our Wine Crew, consisting of the team in the office and a cadre of
outside wine lovers who all chime in to give one last final thumbs up for all the wines you receive.
